Kennedy Town is near the far west end of Hong Kong Island. A tram locally as “Ding Ding” connects it to the east, and only cost 2.3 Hong Kong dollars per ride.
The Ding Ding has been around serving us, and our past generations for over a century since 1902. (wow). It’s the only public transport in Hong Kong that I never hear people complain about, since you expect it to be slow, probably full of people and very hot in summer because of no air conditioning and it’s (sort of) airy windows, which in fact is a good thing, adding to its traditional aspect, but the price says it all comparing to other public transports.
So, here’s the little journey:) Btw, I am experimenting different brand/ type of films at the moment, hence all the colours/ quality are kinda different at the moment, so bare with me. I will probably write a post about my gears sometime soon. Images below include ( Ektar 100, Kodak Portra 400)
Being on the tram gives us a really different perspective of daily life passing through one of the most busiest road in Hong Kong, while the other option would be taking the bus, but now days all buses in HK have sealed windows, as a photographer, I much prefer having no unnecessary layers between me and the subject/ scene. 🙂 Thanks, have a good day. It’s September and I am in Hong Kong right now, I feel is about time to start a blog?
I want this site to be a photography based blog, since I am just terrible at explaining myself through words/ languages, and photos for me seem to have a language of their own.
So… where to start..
During these few months being in Hong Kong, I have/ still/ continue … capturing as much as possible what goes on everyday around me, where its only a dot on the world map packed with 7.2 millions people not even counting visitors.
Here goes.
I spent an afternoon around Kwun Tong just walking about, I snapped whatever interested me and my lens.
Kwun Tong is across the Victoria Habour, opposite Hong Kong Island in a district called, Kowloon.
Thanks:)
